Overview

Your journey begins in Cairo, the sprawling capital of Egypt where you’ll experience the last remaining wonder of the ancient world – the iconic Pyramids of Giza. After marveling at these colossal tombs from the outside, you’ll have the opportunity to go inside one of the Great Pyramids to walk the same chambers where legendary pharaohs were once entombed. Nearby, you’ll come face-to-face with the enigmatic Sphinx, its stone gaze permanently affixed on the horizon as it has been for thousands of years.

From Cairo, you’ll take a flight to Luxor to embark on a multi-night Nile River cruise aboard a luxurious ship. Over the next several days, you’ll discover the incomparable monuments and temples that line the life-giving Nile as you cruise in modern comfort. Walk in the footsteps of pharaohs at the staggering Karnak Temple Complex, then cross to Luxor’s West Bank to explore the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings and the massive memorial temple of Hatshepsut.

Continuing south, you’ll visit the remarkably preserved Temple of Horus at Edfu, one of Egypt’s most intact ancient monuments. At Kom Ombo, you’ll tour the unique double temple dedicated to both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus. You’ll disembark your cruise in Aswan, known for its traditional Nubian culture.

The final days are spent relaxing in the resort town of Hurghada on the Red Sea coast. Here, you can bask on the beautiful sandy beaches, take advantage of incredible water activities like snorkeling and scuba diving, or simply soak up the rays from your beachfront hotel. An evening farewell dinner provides one last opportunity to relish the magic of Egypt with your fellow travelers.
